Guided Imagery in Client-Centred Psychotherapy

IMG_0250

PAST LIVES IN GUIDED IMAGERY

Upon special request, this workshop will have a strong focus on …

  • developing imageries for past-life work
  • preparing the client for the work
  • what to look for when working with past lives
  • how to bring past-life insights back into this life

Guided imagery is a highly variable and effective tool for psychotherapy. Research has shown the power of our minds to create and interact in images and visualizations that convince the body to react to them as if they were real. This power of the mind can be used in psychotherapy to support the client.

This course offers psychotherapists an opportunity to practice designing an effective Guided Imagery for clients:

  • Prepared Imageries vs. Imageries created on the go
  • Different methods of working with Guided Imagery in psychotherapy
  • The three parts of Guided Imagery, their purpose, and how to incorporate them
  • Letting the client guide the imagery
  • How to ask for feedback and information during the Guided Imagery
  • Follow-up: how to bring the results of Guided Imagery back into the client’s work piece
  • How to teach clients the use of Guided Imagery in their own personal life

This course is for psychotherapists with a basic knowledge of the Guided Imagery process. It is highly practical in design, intended to create more fluency and spontaneity with the tool and to increase the comfort-level for using it in a wide variety of situations.

Includes experiential exercises / Guided Imagery. You will be asked to do your own imagery work during this course.

Testimonials:
“I really enjoyed the experiential aspect of this course. I now recognize many more opportunities to use Guided Imagery when I am with my clients.”

Karen S., Oakville

“What I most appreciated hearing was when NOT to use guided imagery, when to proceed with caution, and how to proceed when you may feel stuck, or in over your head. I also appreciated the thoroughness of the information contained in the handouts.”
